The system supports applications with tiered plugins. An application may be installed on the platform, plugins installed into the applications, and plugins installed inside other plugins. The system also provides system error management which is integrated with application defined errors. The system employs a dynamic templating system where templates can be made in PHP, or third party templating systems such as smarty. Lastly, the system contains an internal event monitoring service to allow applications to react to certain event messages.

The user interface is driven by widgets which are employed to interact with the user and back-end systems. The system response may be presented in various formats such as HTML, XML, or SOAP. The proper format is determined by the HTTP request to guarantee the user is receiving the correct interface to the widgets. This means that a single interactive object can be displayed to web browser or returned in a format understood by remote computers for use in distributed environments.
